Osborn and Moore Fall Just Short of State

NORTH ENGLISH-The English Valleys Bears hosted the third regional district tournament on February 11. English Valleys Josh Osborn and Luke Moore concluded their tournament with third place finishes.

Osborn started his tournament off with a 17-7 technical fall win over his Hudson opponent. Osborn then fell in the second round by a 12-5 decision against his Don Bosco opposition. He then bounced back in the consolation semifinals to secure a spot in the second place match. In the second place match, Osborn lost by a close 4-3 decision. He bounced back again in the third place match by pinning his North Mahaska counterpart in 3:17.

Moore’s tournament started with a loss, but he bounced back with back to back wins. Moore worked his way all the way back to the second place match after his first round loss. Moore was then bested by his Iowa Valley opposition. Moore secured third place by pinning the same opponent he lost to in the first round of the tournament: Trevor Koelling of Hudson.
