SIGOURNEY-Pamela Jean (de Regnier) McLaughlin, age 59, of Sigourney, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at her home.
Pam was born May 11, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa, to Richard and Beverly (Sloan) de Regnier and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1980. On May 29, 1982, she married Kenneth McLaughlin in Sigourney. The couple lived in the Thornburg community for eight years before moving to their farm near Hayesville. Pam was a homemaker and cook at Sigourney Schools for 18 years, retiring in 2016. She and Ken were also foster parents from 2000 until 2018. Pam belonged to a local quilting club and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her husband: Kenny of Sigourney; four children: Amy (Jeremy “Wally”) Wallerich of Sigourney Jon (Colleen) McLaughlin of Meridian, Idaho, Michael McLaughlin of Sigourney and Danielle McLaughlin of Pella; five grandchildren: Kensley, Wilem, Warick, Waylin and Makyra; her mother: Bev de Regnier of Sigourney; brothers: Kevin (Rae) de Regnier of Winterset and Doug (Alisca) de Regnier of North English; in-laws: David and Shirley McLaughlin of Sigourney; brothers-in-law: Andy (Connie) McLaughlin of Sigourney, Dennis (Desi) McLaughlin of La Porte City and David (Jennifer) McLaughlin of Sigourney; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Blake) Love of Missoula, Montana and Maureen (John) Suchy of Bentonville, Arkansas; her godchildren: Keith McLaughlin, Lauren Suchy and Izabelle Montgomery and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Timothy McLaughlin; father: Richard “Dick” de Regnier and brother: Brian de Regnier.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Sigourney United Methodist Church, with Pastors Cathy Nutting and Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney.
