Patrick Glandon

1964-2020

Patrick Glandon, 56, of Keosauqua passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Sept. 9, 2020 in West Columbia, Texas. He was born on March 21, 1964 in Oskaloosa to Billy and Pamela Derby Glandon. He grew up in Sigourney and graduated from Sigourney High School with the class of 1983. He married Stacey (Montgomery Glandon) Reese in 1983 and started their family in Rubio raising their children and starting his life in agriculture. They moved to Van Buren County in 1996 to further pursue their life in farming before divorcing in 1999. He was remarried for a short time to Kristal (Lacy) Glandon from Arkansas.

Pat was a heavy equipment operator who was able to travel the country and world working on the Pipeline. He spent time in Afghanistan working for Haliburton, repairing airstrips and building new infrastructure that were destroyed by bombs during Operation Enduring Freedom after 9/11/2001. He called a small rural acreage in Greenbrier, Ark. home from 2013 to 2018, before returning to Van Buren County to be closer to his family; particularly his grandchildren. He was a dedicated and hands-on father, who was most proud of his children, Kyle and Elisa. He was known for his devotion to his family and being able to provide for them.

Pat loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and family. He loved spoiling his grandchildren with the numerous unique treasures from his travels. He had a passion for agriculture and could often be found helping in the field. Pat enjoyed spending his free time barbecuing and drinking Busch Light. He was active on Facebook and loved sharing humorous memes with others. Pat was very sociable and well-liked by everyone who met him. He particularly loved keeping in touch and BS’ing with friends he had met from all over the country.

He is survived by his mother, Pamela Glandon of West Branch; a daughter, Elisa (Alex) Lyons of Riverside; a son, Kyle (Brittany) Glandon of Fairfield; a sister, Susan (Joe) Wasko of Keosauqua; a brother, Jeff (Vicki) Glandon of Moberly, Mo.; four grandchildren: Adia and Cohen Lyons, Piper and Hank Glandon; seven nieces and nephews: Jacob (Katy) Wasko, Katie Wasko, Billy Friis, Anna Friis, Nick Glandon, Rachelle Glandon, Angela Glandon; a brother-in-law, Jim Friis; grand-dogs and farm animals, and numerous pipeline buddies and friends from all over.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Glandon; a sister, Shari Friis; his grandparents, Lyle and Irene Glandon, Ralph and Edith Derby; uncles Ron Glandon, Jerry Cranston, Fred Thompson, Robert Stephenson, aunts Karen Cranston and Janice Stephenson.

A visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 at Pedrick Funeral Home – Keosauqua. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Pedrick Funeral Home – Keosauqua. Burial will follow at Pennington Cemetery just south of Sigourney. Following the burial, a gathering of friends and family to share food and memories of Pat will be held at AJ’s Bar & Grill in Mt. Sterling.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pat Glandon Memorial Fund and sent to the family at 2419 Kale Blvd; Fairfield, IA 52556, to be later dispersed to his grandchildren for their future education. Online condolences may be directed to Pedrick Funeral Home.
