Pekin Basketball Mid-Season Recap
The Pekin girls basketball team wrapped up the first half of their season on a high note by winning two of the last three games. The pinnacle of the stretch came when sophomore Anna Hadley sank a game winning shot to down the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons.
Hadley has been a monster in the paint for the Panthers, as she averages a double double that consists of 13.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
Senior Alex Parson continues to be the do it all player for the Panthers, as she averages 8.1 points, 1.6 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals.
Sophomore Abby Guise has stepped into a starting role, and has been an impact player for the Panthers. Guise averages 5.6 points, 1.9 assists, 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.
For the boys, they currently sit at second place in the SEISC-North side of the conference with a conference record of 6-2.
The Panthers have three athletes averaging double digit points per game.
Senior JaeDon Wolver has been one of the main leaders of this team, as he averages 10.7 points, 1.4 assists, 9.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.
Fellow senior Sven Dahlstrom leads the team with 12 points per game. Dahlstrom has also been averaging one assists, 4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game as well.
Junior Will Adam is averaging 10.7 points per game, as well as 1.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
Both Pekin basketball teams will return to action on January 5, when they visit the WACO Warriors.
