Pekin Girls Host Horton Relays

PACKWOOD—The Pekin Panthers hosted a girls track meet on April 13, and celebrated the careers of Brooke Miller, Claire Roth, Emma Phillips, Lily Reneker and Sabrina Reneker. The Panthers took home first place with an aggregate score of 163.

For the team events, the Panthers placed second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 55.37. The 4x100 team consists of Lauren Conklin, Lily Reneker, Renae Eubanks and Kayse Miller.

The Panthers took home the gold in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:44.01 and the 800 sprint medley with a time of 2:02.55. The 4x800 team is made up of Brooke Miller, Alex Parson, Audrey Fariss and Chloe Glosser, while the 800 sprint medley team consists of Lauren Conklin, Lily Reneker, Sabrina Reneker and Claire Roth.

The Panther also placed first in the distance medley with a time of 5:02.26 and the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:20.52. The distance medley team is made up of Lily Reneker, Sabrina Reneker, Audrey Fariss and Chloe Glosser, while the 4x100 team consists of Renae Eubanks, Payten Coleman, Brooke Miller and Kayse Miller.

For the individual events, Claire Roth placed second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.55. Roth also placed fifth in the long jump event with a longest jump recorded at 15-04.25.

Chloe Glosser took home the gold in the 1500 meter run with a final time of 5:17.00

Renae Eubanks placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.38. Abby Guise finished in fifth in the same event with a time of 19.81.

Eubanks also placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 1:23.31.

In the 3000 meter run, Lauren Steigleder finished in first place with a final time of 12:41.19.

Kayse Miller took home the gold in the high jump with a highest jump recorded at 4-10.00. Abby Guise placed second in the same event with a highest jump recorded at 4-08.00.

Last for the individual events, Anna Hadley placed first with a longest throw recorded at 36-00.50, while Haley Oostra finished in fifth with a longest throw of 30-09.50.

The Panthers girls track team will return to action on April 14, when they participate in the Dennis Anderson Coed Relays at Davis County high school.
