Pekin Girls Secure First Place in Falcon Relays

WEST BURLINGTON—On March 28, the Pekin girls track team made the trip to West Burlington high school for the Burlington Notre Dame track meet. The Panthers won the Class division with an aggregate score of 173. 

For the team events, the Panthers placed fourth in the 800 meter sprint medley with a time of 2:04.99. The 800 meter sprint medley team consists of Abby Guise, Lily Reneker, Claire Roth and Sabrina Reneker. 

In the 4x100 meter relay, the Panthers took home the silver with a final time of 57.06. The Panthers 4x100 team is made up of Abby Guise, Lily Reneker, Renae Eubanks and Kayse Miller.

The Panthers also took home second in the shuttle hurdle event with a time of 1:20.91. The shuttle hurdle team consists of Erica Hoy, Renae Eubanks, Payten Coleman and Kayse Miller.

In the 4x200 meter relay, the Panthers placed fifth with a final time of 2:08.50. The 4x200 team is made up of Abby Guise, Lily Reneker, Sabrina Reneker and Maggy Dickey. 

The Panthers finished in second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:25.60. The 4x400 team consists of Claire Roth, Audrey Fariss, Sabrina Reneker and Chloe Glosser.

In the 4x800, the Panthers placed second with a final time of 10:35.13. The 4x800 team consists of Alex Parsons, Audrey Fariss, Brooke Miller and Chloe Glosser. 

Last for the team events, the Panthers secured second in the distance medley with a final time of 4:48.60.

For the individual events, Lauren Conklin finished in third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.48. 

In the 100 meter hurdles, Renae Eubanks secured sixth with a time of 19.60. 

Lauren Conklin took home fourth in the 200 meter dash with a final time of 30.29.  

Claire Roth placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07.69. Lexi Swearingen also placed sixth in this event with a time of 1:11.59.

In the 400 meter hurdles, Kayse Miller finished in second with a time of 1:22.02, while Renae Eubanks finished right behind her in third with a time of 1:23.92.

Chloe Glosser and Alex Parson finished back to back in the 800 meter race. Glosser finished in second with a final time of 2:43.94, while Parsons placed third with a time of 2:48.98. 

In the 3000 meter run, Lauren Steigleder took home the gold with a final time of 12:02.28, while Lexi Swearingen placed third with a time of 14:25.95. 

In the discus throw event, Anna Hadley and Emma Phillips placed first and second. Hadley took home the gold with a longest throw recorded at 118-05, while Phillips finished in second with a longest throw of 90-11.

Kayse Miller finished in second in the high jump with a high jump recorded at 4-04.00. 

Claire Roth placed second in the long jump with her longest jump being recorded at 15-01.00

Lastly for the team events, Anna Hadley took home the gold in the shot put event with a longest throw recorded at 32-07.50. Haylea Oostra and Emma Phillips placed fifth and sixth in the same event. Oostra placed fifth with a longest throw of 30-02.00, while Phillips finished in sixth with her longest throw recorded at 28-08.00.

The Panthers girls track team will return to action on March 30 for the Bullette Relays.
