Pekin Girls Win Bullette Relays

MEDIAPOLIS—The Pekin Panthers girls track team traveled to Mediapolis high school for the Bullette Relays. The Panthers secured first place with an aggregate score of 139 points. 

For the team events, the Panthers took home first place in four separate events: 4x400 meter relay, 4x800 meter relay, sprint medley relay and distance medley relay. 

The 4x400 meter relay team finished in 4:29.46, and consisted of Claire Roth, Sabrin Reneker, Audrey Fariss and Chloe Glosser. 

The 4x800 meter relay team finished with a time of 10:30.28, and was made up of Audrey Fariss, Brooke Miller, Alex Parsons and Chloe Glosser.

The sprint medley team ended their race in 2:00.20, and consisted of Lauren Conklin, Lily Reneker, Claire Roth and Sabrina Reneker. 

The distance medley team finished in 4:36.32, and was made up of Lily Reneker, Sabrina Reneker, Audrey Fariss and Brooke Miller.

For the individual events, Lauren Conklin placed fourth in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 13.66. 

Claire Roth took home the gold in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.07. Lexi Swearingen also placed third in this event with a fina time of 1:10.30. 

In the 800 meter run, Chloe Glosser placed first with a time of 2:31.01, while Audrey Fariss finished in third with a final time of 2:42.01. 

Lauren Steigleder and Chloe Glosser finished back to back in the 1500 meter run. Steigleder placed second with a time of 5:36.78, while Glosser placed third with a time of 5:44.70.

Steigleder also placed second in the 3000 meter run with a final time of 12:18.41. 

Kayse Miller finished in third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:21.49.

For the discus event, Anna Hadley took home the gold with a longest throw recorded at 117-11. Emma Phillips also placed fourth in the event with a longest throw recorded at 90-07. 

Abby Guise placed sixth in the high jump with a highest jump recorded at 4-4.00.

Claire Roth took home the silver in the long jump event with a longest jump recorded at 15-02.00.

Lastly for the individual events, Anna Hadley placed third in the shot put event with a longest throw recorded at 32-02.00. Haylea Oostra also placed fifth in the event with a longest throw recorded at 29-10.00. 

The Panthers girls track team will return to action on April 4 for the Anderson Relays.
