Pekin Hosts Central Indoor Track Meet

PELLA—The Pekin Panthers hosted their first track meet of the season at the Central College in Pella. The Panthers girls team was able to secure first place in the five of the 11 events. The boys team placed top two in five of the 11 events. 

First of all, Pekin’s girls team secured first place in the shuttle hurdle with a final time of 45.9. The Panther shuttle hurdle team consists of Erica Hoy, Kayse Miller, Renae Eubanks and Payten Coleman. 

The Panthers also secured first place in the 4x800 with a time of 10.58.8. The team is made up of Chloe Glosser, Alex Parson, Audrey Fariss and Brooke Miller. 

The medley team made up of Lauren Steigleder, Audrey Fariss, Brooke Miller and Chloe Glosser secured first in the distance medley with a final time of 14.14. 

In the 4x400, the Panthers took home the gold with a final time of 4:36. The 4x400 team for the Panthers is Claire Roth, Sabrina Reneker, Audrey Fariss and Chloe Glosser. 

In the 55 meter shuttle relay,  Pekin finished in second with a time of 34:78. The team is made up of Claire Roth, Lilly Reneker, Sabrina Reneker and Rowan Connelly.

In the California Mile, or also known as the 8x200, the Panthers placed second with a final time of 4:16. The 8x200 team is made up of Lauren Conklin, Alysissa Brock, Krysta Sheets, Erica Hoy, Abby Guise, Kayse Miller and Lexi Swearingen. 

Last for the team events for the girls, the 4x200 team made up of Claire Roth, Lilly Reneker, Renae Eubanks and Sabrina Reneker finished in third with a final time of 1:59.57.

For individuals, Abby Guise finished in first in the high jump with a final jump recorded at 4-10. Senior Brooke Miller finished right behind her with a final jump recorded at 4-08. 

In the long jump, Claire Roth placed third with a 14-06 final recorded jump. 

Erica Hoy placed fourth in the 60 meter shuttle hurdle with a final time of 10.72. 

Lastly for the girls, Anna Hadley placed first in the shot put with a final distance of 35-05.50. Haylea Oostra placed third with a final throw recorded at 31-00. 

For the Pekin boys team, the distance medley team finished in first with a final time of 12:16. The boys distance medley team is made up of JaeDon Wolver, Will Daniels, Nolan Glick and Brady McWhiter.  

In the 4x800, the Panthers were also able to secure first with a final time of 10:46. The 4x800 team is made up of Riley Smith, Cole Millikan, Will Daniels and Noah Lucas. 

In the shuttle hurdle, the Panthers placed second with a final time of 40.98. The shuttle hurdle team consists of JaeDon Wolver, Will Adam, Robert Brown and Carson Comstock.

The Panthers also finished in second place in the 4x400 with a final time of 3:58. The 4x400 team is made up of Nolan Glick, Robert Brown, JaeDon Wolver and Brady McWhirter. 

In the California Mile, the Panthers finished in third with a final time of 3:50. The California Mile team consists of Sven Dahlstrom, Carson Comstock, Nolan Glick, Kasey Davis, Robert Brown, Will Daniels, Cole Millikin and Riley Smith. 

Lastly for the team events, the Panthers placed fifth in the 4x200 with a final time of 1:47.1. The 4x200 team is made up of Sven Dahlstrom, Robert Brown, Kasey Davis and Will Adam. 

For individual events, JaeDon Wolver placed third in the high jump with a highest jump recorded at 5-08. 

Caden Bender placed second in shot put with a longest throw recorded at 41-03.25. 

In the long jump, Will Adam placed fifth with a longest jump recorded at 17-05.50.

Lastly, Kasey Davis finished in fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a final time of 10.21.
