Pekin Participates in Iowa/Missouri Battle of the Borders Relays


Brady McWhirter took home first and second place in the 3200 meter run and the 800 meter run for the Panthers

Bloomfield—The Pekin Panthers traveled to Bloomfield for the IA/MO Battle of the Border Relays on March 23. The boys finished in third with 102 totals points, while the girls took home second with 163 points accumulated.  

Boys:

For the team events, the Panthers took home first place in the 4x400 with a time of 3:47.54. The 4x400 team is made up of Brady McWhirter, Nolan Glick, Will Adam and JaeDon Wolver. The Panthers also took home first in the 800 sprint medley with a time 1:49.78. The Panthers 800 sprint medley team is made up of Sven Dahlstrom, Kasey Davis, Riley Smith and Nolan Glick. In the 4x100, the Panthers again secured first place with a time of 1:10.35. The 4x100 team consists of Sven Dahltstrom, Kasey Davis, Carson Comstock and Robert Brown. Lastly for the team events, the Panthers placed fourth in the distance medley with a final time of 4:31.27. The distance medley team for the Panthers is made up of Sven Dahlstrom, Carson Comstock, Robert Brown and Cole Milikin. 

For the individual events, Brady McWhirter placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.16, and took home first in the 3200 meter run with a final time of 10:18.00. JaeDon Wolver took home the gold in the high jump with a highest jump recorded at 5-08.00, and also finished in second in 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 59.70. Lastly, Will Adam placed second in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 17-07.00. 

Girls:

For the team events, the Panthers placed third in the 4x100 with a time of 59.01. The 4x100 team is made up of Abby Guise, Emma Phillips, Renae Eubanks and Kayse Miller. In the 4x400, the Panthers took home first place with a time of 4:25.49. The 4x400 team consists of Audrey Fariss, Claire Roth, Sabrina Reneker and Chloe Glosser. The Panthers also placed first in the 4x800 with a final time of 10:31.71. The 4x800 team is made up of Audrey Fariss, Brooke Miller, Alex Parson and Chloe Glosser. The distance medley was another event the Panthers took home the gold with a time of 4:48.14. The distance medley team consists of Lily Reneker, Sabrina Reneker, Audrey Fariss and Brook Sylvester. Lastly for the team events, the Panthers won the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle with a final time of 1:24.47. The 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle team is made up of Brooke Miller, Kayse Miller, Payten Coleman and Renae Eubanks. 

For the individual events,  Chloe Glosser and Lauren Steigleder placed first and second in the 1500 meter run. Glosser secured first with a time of 5:12.80, while Steigleder finished in second with a time of 5:39.50. Steigleder also took home first place in the 3000 meter run with a final time of 12:07.96. In the 100 meter hurdles, Renae Eubanks finished second with a final time of 20.42. Eubanks also took home second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:24.30. Kayse Miller was right behind Eubanks, as she finished third with a time of 1:24.96. In the girls high jump, Kayse Miller and Abby Guise placed first and second. Miller secured first place with a highest jump of 4-08.00, while Guise finished in second with a highest jump of 4-06.00. Claire Roth took home third in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 14-06.75. Lastly, Anna Hadley placed second in the shot put and discus events.
