SIGOURNEY—The Sigourney Savages hosted the BGM Bears on June 9 for a SICL conference matchup. The Savages bested the Bears by a final score of 7-1, and pushed their conference record to 7-1.

The Savages struck first in the bottom of the second, and the Bears responded in the top of the third to tie the game at one apiece. The Savages retook the lead in the bottom of the third, then scored five runs in the fifth and sixth innings en route to the 7-1 victory.

The Savage offense had three athletes tally an RBI on the day: Caden Clarahan, Max Phillips and Cole McKay.

Caden Clarahan got the start from the bump, and finished his day with seven innings pitched, no earned runs on three hits and 10 strikeouts.

The Savages advance to 9-4 on the season, and will return to action June 12, when they visit the HLV Warriors.
