Savages Fall to Regals in Second Round

SIGOURNEY–On June 5, the Sigourney Savages hosted the Regina Catholic Regals for the second round of the Class 1A-Region 5 bracket. The Savages fell to the Regals by a final score of 3-2.

The Regal struck first with a run in the first inning, but the Savages responded with two of their own. This score stood until the top of the fifth inning, where the Regals plated two runners to secure the 3-2. The Regal held onto this lead en route to the victory.

The two Savage runs came from the bat of Reid Molyneux off a single in the first inning. 

Caden Clarahan got the start from the bump, and finished his day with five and one-thirds innings, three earned runs on seven hits and four strikeouts. Ty Shafranek came in relief in the top of the sixth inning, and went two and one-thirds innings, no earned runs on one hit and three strikeouts. 

The Savages wrap up their season with a final record of 18-6.
