Savages sweep HLV on senior night

SIGOURNEY – Some memories last forever, and for seven of them their last memories of playing on their home court was a victorious one.

Last Monday the Sigourney volleyball team swept HLV, 3-0, to win the senior night match. For the eight seniors on the team they were able to celebrate the win on senior night, with a little help surviving the final two sets. 

The Savages were able to win the first set with relative ease, with a 25-15 victory. The next two sets wouldn’t be as easy though. 

In the second set HLV kept the score close, but Sigourney was able to pull away with an ultimate 25-22 win. The third set was another close one as well, but Sigourney closed out the sweep with a 25-21 victory. 

Senior Reagan Clarahan had nine kills on the night to lead her team. Josephine Moore added eight kills while Bailey Gretter finished with seven. Addy Fineran had four and McKinley Chittick had three. 

Taylor Rozenboom had 20 assists. Gretter added nine and Moore finished with one. 

Clarahan and Fineran both had two blocks each. Gabi Dehne had one block. Moore led the way with 17 digs. Dani Aller added 10 digs. Both Gretter and McKinley Chittick added seven digs each. 

Clarahan and Moore each had two aces. Gretter, Rozenboom and Aller all had one ace each. 

Sigourney stands at 13-4 overall on the season.
