SIGOURNEY – Things seem to be clicking right along.

Last week Sigourney’s girls basketball team was able to pick up two more victories as they downed both Colfax-Mingo and HLV.

The Jan. 14 game against Colfax-Mingo was lopsided as Sigourney picked up a 55-22 victory.

In that contest the Savages were able to start the game by scoring 31 points in the first half. During that same time Colfax-Mingo was limited to just 15 points.

The second half was even better for the Sigourney offense as they slowed down the Colfax-Mingo offense to just seven points, meanwhile the Savages scored 24 points to gain the comfortable win.

Brynn Clarahan led the scoring effort with 20 points. She also had 14 steals. Josephine Moore was close with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Bailey Gretter scored seven points.

McKinley Chittick finished with four points.

Devyn Smallwood added three points and Addy Fineran scored two points.

Friday night the Savages were on the road where they were able to win 52-42 over HLV.

Both teams played each other to a 20-20 tie at halftime. The Savages came out in the third quarter and were able to gain a 19-8 advantage that set them up for the eventual 10-point victory.

Moore led the scoring for the Savages with 22 points. She added 21 rebounds in the game. Clarahan had 11 points with four rebounds and eight steals. Fineran added eight points. Chittick scored seven points.
