Sigourney Girls Send Off to Waco for the Ekstrand Relays

WAYLAND—On April 27, the Sigourney Savages girls track team sent off to Wayland for the Ekstrand Relays at Waco high school. The Savages finished in eighth place with an aggregate score of 60.50.

For the team events,  the Savages were the third team to cross the finish line in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 12:35.37. The 4x800 team consisted of Ava Fineran, Mason Clarahan, Jayden Montgomery and Autumn Belvel.

The Savages also took home the bronze in the sprint medley with a time of 2:04.02. The sprint medley team was made up of Amiya Smallwood, Reagan Clarahan, Carly Goodwin and McKinley Chittick.

Lastly for the team events, the Savages secured third in the distance medley with a time of 5:10.20. The distance medley team included Reagan Clarahan, Carly Goodwin and Addison Yates.

For the individual events, McKinley Chittick was the third runner to cross the finish line in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:09.95. 

Ava Fineran secured sixth for the Savaes in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:02.99.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Mason Clarahan placed fifth with a time of 18.48.

Reagan Clarahan was the second runner to cross the finish line in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.66. Mason Clarahan also placed fifth in the same event with a time of 1:28.39.

Addison Yates took home the gold in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:33.63. 

Josephine Moore placed first in the shot put event with a longest throw recorded at 31-00.50. Moore also secured sixth in the discus even with a longest hurl recorded at 76-09.

The Savages will return to action on May 2, when they travel to BGM high school for a SICL Co-Ed meet.
