Sigourney Girls Track Take Trek to Belle Plaine

BELLE PLAINE—On March 28, the Sigourney Savages girls track team made the trip to Belle Plaine high school for a track meet. The Savages finished in sixth in the Class A division with an aggregate score of 37. 

For the team events, the Savages finished in third in the 4x400 relay with a final time of 4:47.58. The 4x400 relay team is made up of McKinley Chitick, Reagan Clarahan, Amiya Smallwood and Carly Goodwin.

In the 1600 distance medley, the Savages placed fourth with a time of 5:12.22. The 1600 distance medley team consists of Amiya Smallwood, Reagan Clarahan, Carly Goodwin and McKinley Chittick.

For the individual events, Mackenzie Bevel placed ninth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 16.88, while Jayden Montgomery finished in 12th with a time of 17.08. 

In the 200 meter dash, Carly Goodwin placed sixth with a final time of 30.98.

Ava Fineran placed seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:55.69.

In the 1500 meter run, Addison Yates placed second with a final time of 5:51.64. Yates also finished in third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:32.25.

Erin Dawson placed seventh in the high jump with a highest jump recorded at 4-6.00. 

In the discus event, Macy Fisch finished in fifth with a longest throw of 80-4.50. Josephine Moore placed 10th in the same event with a longest recorded throw of 68-02.65. 

Lastly for the individual events, Josephine Moore took home third place in the shot put event, when she recorded a personal record with a throw recorded at 30-06.00. Macy Fisch finished in fourth in the same event with a longest throw recorded at 29-03.50.

The Savages girls track team will return to action on April 4, when they participate in the Lynnville-Sully meet.
