WILTON—On May 16, the Sigourney Savages started their season off by visiting the Wilton Beavers. The Savages handled the Beavers by a final score of 11-7.

The Savages found themselves in a 3-0 deficit after four innings of play. They cut the lead down to 3-2 in the fifth inning. They added five more in the top of the sixth to secure a 7-3. The Beavers pushed back with three runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the Savages lead down to 7-6. The Beavers eventually tied the game at seven apiece in the seventh. The Savages offense added four runs in the eight to secure the 11-7 win over the Beavers.
