SK Bowling Senior Day Meet with Pella

SIGOURNEY – Five Sigourney seniors were recognized on Saturday February 3 rd prior to the SK bowling team’s final season meet when they took on Pella at home. Senior bowlers honored included Brock Alderson (Scott and Amanda Alderson), Ty Krueger (Rick and Kris Kreuger), Lily Bird (Monte and Nancy Bird), Jon Cline (Tara Cline), and Drew Dobbins (Travis and April Dobbins).

After the senior ceremony, the SK varsity boys went on to tally 2910 total pins to defeat Pella by 269 pins. Landyn Greiner claimed the boy’s high game with an impressive 279 and a 456 two-game series. Brock Alderson had a 415 two-game series. Wells Clark and Liam VanVoltenburg each contributed a 200 plus game. Drew Dobbins rolled the JV boys high game of 198.

SK’s varsity girls defeated Pella with a 2291 total pin score. Addison Richardson and Sophie Young tied for the girls’ high game, each with 182, and Sophie threw the high series of 362.

Both the SK boys and the girls bowling teams will compete in the conference meet on

Saturday, February 10 th in Newton beginning at 9:00 a.m. 

The varsity girls’ team will then compete in their state qualifying meet beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12 in Ottumwa.

The varsity boys will travel to Comanche on Tuesday February 13 th to compete in their

state qualifying meet beginning at 10:00 a.m.
