SK Bowling Takes on Oskaloosa

After a three-week holiday break, the Sigourney-Keota high school bowling team hosted 2A Oskaloosa at Keokuk County Bowl on Saturday, January 6 th . The SK girls’ varsity team was on fire and bested Oskaloosa’s varsity girls with a pin count of 2223 to 2120. 

Freshman Sophie Young claimed the SK girls’ top game score of 174 as well as the top series score of 340.

Oskaloosa’s top bowler, Trey VanWyk, claimed the meet’s top honors with individual games of207 and 246 for the high series of 453. 

Oskaloosa boys’ varsity topped SK with a total pin score of 2741 to SK’s 2637. SK’s JV boys also competed with four bowlers to Oskaloosa’s six and fell short of a win.

SK will travel to Oskaloosa on Friday, January 12 th to face Knoxville at 2:00 p.m. at

Statesman Lanes.
