SOUTH ENGLISH – During the Feb. 6 meeting of the South English city council, the council discussed a “good sized hole” located in front of one resident’s home. Councilwoman Hope Frazier noted that she had hit the hole with her car and heard a loud thud. The council decided to purchase half a truck worth of ruck to fill in the hole as a temporary fix; the leftover rock will be used on the path to the plow shed and scattered on town roads.

New Councilman Steven Bruhn stated that he had met with the Iowa Department of Transportation to make sure the city was compliant for snow plowing. He noted that the city was mostly compliant, but could run into trouble if people began parking on Highway 22. The council briefly discussed putting up a no parking sign, but decided to hold off until it becomes a problem.
