Supervisors Approve Drug Prevention Program
SIGOURNEY – During the Feb. 5 meeting of the Keokuk County Board of Supervisors, the board approved using opioid settlement money to have Public Health Coordinator Jorie Altenhofen receive training from Botvin LifeSkills and begin a drug prevention program at local high schools. The supervisors also talked about a bill that would regulate what order counties clear out snow after blizzards, with paved farm-to-market roads being done first. Supervisor Derek Wood noted that paved roads are not always the most used and that some gravel roads are used more by farmers than official farm-to-market roads. Supervisor Micheal Hadley noted that this goes against the idea of local control.
