Tri-County Ends Special Season with Thrilling Loss to Twin Cedars

BUSSEY—On June 8, the Tri-County Trojans visited the Twin Cedars Sabers for shot to play the Class 1A-Region 8 championship. This marked the first time the Trojans made it to the third round of the regional playoffs since 2010. The Trojans barely lost to the Sabers by a final score of 5-4. 

This marked the final game for seniors Peyton Icenbice, Delanie Little, Macy Schmidt, Alyssa Conrad and Tessa Fisher, who have all been members of the Tri-County softball team since eighth grade.

Macy Schmidt led the Trojan offense with two RBIs off a single and a home run. Sadie McKain also notched an RBI on the day with a perfect batting average from two singles. 

Delanie Little got the start from the bump, and finished her day with six innings pitched, five earned runs on five hits and five strikeouts. 

The Trojans end a magical season with a final record of 12-10, and a conference record of 10-6.
