Tri-County Girls Top Melcher-Dallas on Senior Night

THORNBURG—On January 30, the Tri-County Trojans hosted the Melcher-Dallas Saints for a non conference matchup. The Trojans topped the Saints by a final score of 40-38.

Before the game, the Trojans celebrated the careers of seniors Tessa Fisher, Alyssa Conrad, Delanie Little, Sadie McKain, Grayce Williams and Grace Randall. 

After a quarter of play, the Trojans found themselves six points behind the Saints at 11-5. The Trojans came storming back in the second quarter to the tune of out-scoring the Saints 17-5 to secure a 22-16 halftime lead. 

The third quarter started with the Trojans continuing to be scorching hot. They had four different players hit a three pointer in this quarter. Heading into the fourth, the Trojans held a 34-22 lead. 

The Saints came storming back in the fourth quarter to the tune of a 16-6 run. The effort was not enough to overcome the Trojans lead, as the Trojans secured the 40-38 victory.

The Trojans leading scorer on the night was Alyssa Conrad with nine points, all of Conrad’s points came from the three point line. The next highest scoring Trojans were sophomores Lily Randall and Ayla Hall with eight points apiece. Senior Delanie Little was the main paint presence for the Trojans, as she amassed seven total rebounds. 

The Trojans advance to 3-16 on the season, with a conference record of 1-13. They will return to action on January 31, when they visit the Sigourney Savages.
