Tri-County Girls Track Team Travel to Belle Plaine

BELLE PLAINE—On March 28, the Tri-County girls track team participated in the Belle Plaine track meet. The Trojans finished in sixth in the Class B division with an aggregate score of 32. 

For the team events, the Trojans took home the gold in the 1600 meter distance medley with a time of 5:14.92. The distance medley team is made up of Lily Randall, Ayla Hall, Aaliyah Cooper and Sadie McKain. 

In the 8000 sprint medley, the Trojans finished in third with a final time of 2:08.48. The spring medley team is made up of Lily Randall, Grace Randall, Ayla Hall and Aaliyah Cooper. 

For the individual events, Gabby Bunker placed 14th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 16.37, while Marley VanPatten placed 18th with a time of 19.03

In the 800 meter dash, Sadie McKain finished in fifth with a final time of 3:10.68. 

In the long jump event, Lily Randall and Gabby Bunker placed fourth and fifth. Randall finished in fourth with a longest jump of 13-11.75, while Bunker finished in fifth with a longest recorded jump of 13-09.00. 

In the shot put event, Peyton Icenbice placed third with a longest throw recorded at 28-07.00. 

In the discus event, Gyasilyn Purdy finished 16th with a longest throw recorded at 34-00. 

The Tri-County girls track team will return to action on April 3, when they participate in the Lone Tree meet.
