Tri-County Track Takes Part in Savage Relays

SIGOURNEY—On April 25, the Tri-County Trojans track teams made the trip to Sigourney high school for the 2023 Co-Ed Savage Relays. The Trojans girls placed 10th with an aggregate score of 26, while the boys team did not yield a score.

Girls:

For the team events, the Trojans trotted to second place in both the sprint medley and the 4x400 meter relay. The sprint medley team crossed the finish line with a time of 2:04.58, while the 4x400 team finished up in 4:43.56. The sprint medley team consisted of Ayla Hall, Grace Randall, Lily Randall and Aaliyah Cooper, while the 4x400 team was made up of Grayce Williams, Sadie McKain, Ayla Hall and Aaliyah Cooper.

Lastly for the team events for the girls, the Trojans were the fifth team to cross the finish line in the distance medley with a time of 5:04.53. The distance medley team included Grayce Williams, Grace Randall, Ayla Hall and Sadie McKain.

For the individual events, Lily Randall placed fourth in the long jump with a longest leap at 15-02. Randall was also the seventh runner to cross the finish line in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.86. 

Peyton Icenbice secured sixth in the shot put event with a farthest throw at 32-01.50. Icenbice also placed sixth in the discus event with a farthest hurl of 85-01.

Lastly for the individual events for the girls, Aaliyah Cooper blazed her way to fifth place in the 800 meter run with a final time of 2:45.38.  

Boys:

For the boys, Boston Roorda was the ninth runner to cross the finish line in the 800 meter run with a final time of 2:26.78.

Jeremiah Seatton placed ninth in the discus event with a longest throw recorded at 109-08.

The Tri-County track teams will return to action on April 28, when they head to Cardinal high school for the Bob Gerald Relays.
