Weber Appointed to Board of Supervisors

SIGOURNEY – Kevin Weber, who was elected to the Keokuk County Board of Supervisors in November, was officially appointed during the board’s Dec. 30 meeting.

During the Jan. 6 meeting, the board decided to hold wage discussions during a regular board meeting, instead of at a separate work session. Board Member Daryl Wood mentioned that the county’s general fund went from $2,935,000 to $3,010,000 this year and that rural basic went from $2,158,00 to 2,196,000. Auditor Christy Bates noted that budgets are guesses, and stated she guessed high last year. Wood noted rising insurance costs.
