PEKIN – He’s proven he can do it all, and in some games he seemed to do just about anything he wanted to.

Awards from the football season are pouring in, and one of the biggest awards from the area schools belongs to Pekin senior quarterback Will Adam, who was named as the unanimous class A district 5 MVP for the football season.

Adam had an impressive senior season as he continued to put up eye-popping stats in just about every game he competed in.

As a quarterback Adam was able to throw for 1,215 yards this season. He completed 74 of 126 passes, finishing the season with a completion percentage of nearly 59 percent. He threw for 11 touchdowns and just six interceptions.

While the arm strength and accuracy of Adam was nothing to blink an eye at, Adam was just as dangerous when he was forced out of the pocket.

The senior wasn’t afraid to use his feet when he needed to. Over the course of the year he was able to carry the ball 110 times for a total of 936 yards. He scored 15 touchdowns on his feet alone.

Adam averaged 8.5 yards per carry.

Overall the senior scored 28 total touchdowns this season, the third most in his district, despite playing in one fewer game than the two players in front of him.

Adam had the second most passing touchdowns as well as the fifth-most rushing scores in his district this fall.

In terms of all-purpose yards Adam finished the year with 1,091 yards, which was the fourth most in his district.

He also had the third-most rushing yards of any other player in his district.
