Keith Alan Aldrich

Keith Alan Aldrich, 70, died at home surrounded by family after a valiant 18 month battle with leukemia due to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. He was born March 27, 1950, to Clarence and Crystal Aldrich, who preceded him in death, and grew up in Sigourney where he made lifelong friends.

Keith was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970 and served a tour in Vietnam as a combat soldier with the 4th Infantry Division and the 101st Airborne.

After his service, he met the love of his life, Stacey Christenson. They married in 1974 and traveled around the country in a Volkswagen van for two years returning to Saugatuck to start their family.

Using his GI Bill benefits, Keith learned the tool and die trade from John Juros of Paramount Tool. He later retired from Transmatic Manufacturing after 30 years.

Keith was a member and past president of the Saugatuck-Douglas Lions Club and a member of the local VFW and American Legion Post 0137.

He enjoyed woodworking and many outdoor hobbies and made many decks and structures for friends and family. At the age of 62, he earned his black belt in Tae-Kwon-do, the oldest member of his class.

Keith is survived by his wife Stacey, daughters: Kelly (David) Plowman, Cortney (Glenn, Jr.) Rutkauskas; grandsons: Levi and Silas Moreno, and Blake Plowman; Sister Carol McCormick of Concrete, Wash.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date, due to Covid.

Memorial Donations can be made to the Saugatuck American Legion Post 0137, P.O. Box 596, Saugatuck, MI 49453 or Cow Hill Yacht Club, P.O. Box 554, Saugatuck, MI 49453.
