A tell-tale victory for Pekin Volleyball, sweep Hillcrest Academy Ravens 3-0
Pekin swept Hillcrest Academy on Tuesday, Sept. 15 in Packwood, winning three sets over the Ravens (25-19, 25-17, 26-24).
This win brought the Panthers to a 5-4 season record.
“We were a little off our routine tonight, but we’ll be good,” Coach Rusty Crabtree said.
The Panthers were led Claire Roth’s seven kills. Emma Phillips had six of her own. Erika Coleman had seven assists.
Defensively, Kaydlyn Johnson’s ten digs were a game high.
“I’m proud of the girls. They didn’t give up in that last set when they were down, so I’m happy for
them,” Coach Crabtree said.
On Sept. 17, Pekin played at Lone Tree, losing in four sets (21-25, 22-25, 25-17, 9-25).
Erika Coleman had eight assists, six aces and two kills.
Kaydlyn Johnson had 27 digs. The Panthers moved to 5-5 after the loss.
