Pekin Grade Race Featured Albia, Davis County and Highland Community On Saturday

Last Saturday, Sept. 26 in Fairfield, Pekin hosted Albia, Davis County and Highland Community for their annual Pekin Grade Race.

 

For both freshman races, two Panther runners finished in the top two. For the boy’s freshman 5K: Isaac Gentry had a winning time of 18:51 and JaeDon Wolver placed second with a time of 19:00. Ben Guise placed fourth with a time of 20:06 and J.T. Spray finished tenth with a time of 22:35. For the girl’s 5K: Lauren Steigleder won with a time of 21:46 and Audrey Fariss placed second with a time of 22:35. Lexi Swearingen’s time of 26:20 found her an eighth place overall finish. Lillian Buie and Erica Hoy finished eleventh and twelfth overall with respective times of 28:03 and 29:34.

 

For the sophomore boy’s race Gavin Brown (21:47) finishing fifth was the only result for a Pekin runner. The girl’s race for tenth grade featured a third and fifth place finisher for Pekin: Lily Reneker (24:18) and Sabrina

Reneker (25:21). The junior boy’s race saw a second place and a ninth place finisher. Zach Wise (17:53) and Chandler Stull (21:28). For the  girl’s junior race, Pekin won this

race with 15 points.

 

Lily Fariss won with a time of 21:19, Lauren Derscheid was third with a time of 21:53, fourth was Sarah Eubanks with a time of

22:49, Mia Clark, fifth had a time of 23:43, Sixth was Emily Laumeyer with a time of 24:13, eighth was Zoey Johnson’s 25:47 time

and twelfth was Adalia Keith with a time of 43:17.

 

Brady Millikin won the senior boy’s race with a time of 17:20.
