Eagles Sweep Trojans 44-27 and 62-20
On Dec. 8, 2020, the Tri-County Trojans traveled about 30 miles east to have their girl’s and boy’s varsity basketball teams take on the Keota Eagles.
The girl’s game saw a 16-4 first quarter lead by the Eagles which expanded to 23-12 at halftime.
The second half of action saw Eagle Bailey Sieren open with a short jumper which Trojan Macy Schmidt responded to with one of her own from the same distance.
Taylor Kindred’s 14 points and 13 rebounds, along with tough play down low aided the Eagles in their 44-27 win. Bailey Sieren finished the games with ten points, five rebounds and three assists. Macie McDonald had nine rebounds and four steals for the Eagles.
Macy Schmidt’s eight points led the way for Tri-County, Alyssa Conrad added six points and Chloe Staley had six points, seven rebounds and two steals. Sadie McKain had seven rebounds and two steals for her total.
The boy’s jumped out to a 25-8 lead after the first quarter and were led by Carson Sprouse’s 18 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists. The second quarter saw a combined 13 points by both teams.
The Eagles would put the pedal to the hardwood in the third quarter offensively and defensively scoring 21 points and allowing two.
Bryce Greiner finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, and Wyatt Sieren had ten points (5/5 from the field)
