English Valleys Qualifies Four for Districts

The English Valleys Bears are sending four wrestlers to Districts.

This past Saturday, Feb. 6 During the Iowa Class 1A Sectional 4 tournament, the Bears had one champion emerge and three second place finishes to move one step closer to State. 

Junior Ty Moore was the Bears lone champion, winning the 132-pound tournament. 

Moore started the day off with a pin over Brody Sternhagen of HLV before pinning Kanyon Schwab of Belle Plaine in the finals. 

Fellow junior Ashton Moore placed second in the 195-pound tournament. 

Moore pinned Ronan Peach of Iowa Valley in the semifinals before falling to Jeramie Kane of BGM in the championship. 

Also qualifying for Districts was sophomore Josh Osborn and freshman Luke Moore. 

Osborn placed second in the 138-pound division while Moore brought home second place in the 160-pound division. 

The Bears will compete in the Iowa Class 1A District 2 tournament this Saturday, Feb. 13 in Brooklyn.
