1959-2021

Michael Wayne Hahn, 61, of Morning Sun died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 in Muscatine.

Born June 24, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, he was the son of Wayne Ora Hahn and Janet Elaine Haig. He married Sandra Kathleen Wehage Aug. 27, 1994 in Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Michael was a 1977 graduate of North English High School. Since the age of 16 he had worked as a truck driver. He currently worked for Gabeline Trucking in Yarmouth, IA.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

His hobbies include watching Chiefs football, Chicago Cubs baseball, and Chicago Bulls basketball. He enjoyed NASCAR, with Dale Jarrett being his favorite driver.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Sandra Hahn of Morning Sun; three children, Elizabeth Sue Hahn, Austin Roy Hahn, and Byron Wayne Hahn, all of Morning Sun; three sisters, Shari (Lloyd) Burtlow of Hedrick, Lydia Haig of Cedar Rapids, and Kari Purdin of Richland; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

The funeral service for Mr. Hahn will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Kathleen Wohlers will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call noon-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Lunning Chapel with the family present for visitation 5-8 p.m.
