1949 - 2022

Judith Ellis, 73, of rural Ollie died Saturday, November 26, 2022, in an auto accident near New London, Iowa. She was born February 8, 1949, in Pekin, Iowa, the daughter of Woodrow and Wanda Van Orsdall Conger. She attended school in Ollie. On August 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert Ellis at the Ollie Methodist Church. Following their marriage, she worked for a short time at Crystal Floral. In addition to caring for her family and home, she helped Bob with chores on the farm. She enjoyed tending to her garden and was especially proud of her tomato plants and flowers. She looked forward to camping at the Iowa State Fair and the Old Threshers. She also enjoyed working on puzzles, mushroom hunting, and listening to country music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Her family includes her husband of over 52 years, Bob Ellis of rural Ollie; two children, Tammi Ellis and Jeff Ellis both of Ollie; a son-in-law, Sean Reid of Stockport, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jenna Reid and Jake Reid; four brothers, Dale (Kathy) Conger of Martinsburg, Larry (Janet) Conger of Linby, Iowa, Bobby Conger of Linby, and Jimmy (Mary Lou) Conger of Ollie; four sisters, Carolyn Skinner of Hedrick, Arlene Shy of Dixon, Missouri, Joyce Kopsieker of Ollie, and Juanita Jones of Martinsburg; brother and sister in law, Larry and Patty Ellis of Ollie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sherrie Reid; a grandson, Landon Ellis; two sisters in infancy, Linda Conger and Darlene Conger; and six brothers, Paul Conger, Dean Conger, Delbert Conger, Edward Conger, Raymond Conger, and Ralph Conger.

Funeral Services are Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Prairie View Church in Ollie, Iowa, with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.  Visitation with family present, at the church from 9:30 AM until the services at 11 AM.  Open visitation will be at the Fremont Funeral Chapel, Fremont, Iowa on Friday, December 9 from 2 PM to 7 PM.  Burial will be at the Van Orsdall Cemetery, Ollie, Iowa.  Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
