Tri-County Girls Bested by North Mahaska in First Round

NEW SHARON—The Tri-County Trojans traveled to North Mahaska high school on February 9 for a matchup with the Warhawks in the first round of the Class 1A-Region 8 bracket. The Trojans fell to the Warhawks by a final score of 61-31.

The game commenced with the Warhawks storming out to a 25-7 lead by the conclusion of the first quarter. By halftime, the Warhawks pushed their lead to 23 at 37-14. They went on to out-score the Trojans 24-17 in the second half en route to the 61-31 victory. 

The Trojans were led by Ayla Hall, who finished her night with eight points, four steals and three rebounds. Senior Sadie McKain made her presence known in the paint, as she amassed 11 total rebounds. Of her 11 rebounds, five of those were offensive. 

The Trojans conclude their season with a regular season record of 4-18, and a conference record of 1-14.
