Sigourney Track Teams Commence Seasons at Grinnell for Indoor Meet

GRINNELL-The Sigourney Savages started their season on March 20 with a SICL Indoor meet at Grinnell College. 

Boys:

For the boys individual events, Landon Crow placed 14th in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 15-05.50, and Brady Clark finished in 15th with a longest jump of 15-05.00. In the shot put event, Jayden Thompson finished in ninth with a longest throw recorded 34-05.50, while Ashton Scwab placed 14th with a throw recorded at 32.05.00. In the 60 meter hurdles, Caden Clarahan finished his race in ninth with a final time of 10:46. Owen Menke finished in 13th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.92. In the 60 meter dash, Peyton Leathers and Brady Clark finished back to back in 10th and 11th. Leathers finished with a time of 7.48, while Clark ended with a time of 7.86. Dylan Weber placed 11th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.88. Landon Crow took home third place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.52, Braydon Wood placed eight with a time of 2:35.05, and Wyatt Wehr finished in 11th with a time of 2:45.37. In the 200 meter dash, Colt Reed finished in 11th with a time of 25:48. Lastly for the 1600 meter run, Troy Klett placed seventh with a time of 5:22.55. 

For the team events, the Savages placed second in the 4x800 meter relay with a final time of 9:46.64. The 4x800 team consists of Landon Crowe, Wyatt Wehr, Braydon Wood and Troy Klett. The Savages also placed third in the distance medley with a time of 4:13.90. The distance medley team is made up of Brady Clark, Jake Moore, Colt Reed and Troy Klett. 

Girls: 

For the girls individual events, Erin Dawson finished in third in the high jump. Macy Fisch placed ninth in the shot put event with a longest throw of 27-04.75, while Josephine Moore finished in 10th with a longest throw of 27-02.00. In the 60 meter hurdles, Mason Clarahan finished in 11th with a final time of 11.72. Jayden Montgomery took home 10th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 9.11. In the 1500 meter run, Addison Yates placed second with a blazing time of 5:53.07. 

For the team events, the Sigourney girls 4x800 team placed sixth with a final time of 12:40.65. The 4x200 team is made up of McKinley Chittick, Addison Yates, Ava Finneran and Mandie Wilcox. The Savages also took home third in the distance medley with a time of 5:10.70. The distance medley team consists of Amiya Smallwood, Carly Goodwin, McKinley Chittick and Addison Yates. Lastly, the Savages took home seventh in the 4x400 with a time of 5:05.46. The 4x400 team consists of McKinley Chittick, Carly Goodwin, Amiya Smallwood and Ava Finneran.
