Sigourney Boys Send Off to Belle Plaine for Track Meet

BELLE PLAINE—On March 30, the Sigourney Savages boys track team made the trip to Belle Plaine for a meet. The Savages finished in eighth in the Class A division with an aggregate score of 6 points. 

For the team events, the Savages took home sixth in the distance medley with a final time of 4:17.77. The distance medley team is made up of Colt Reed, Caden Clarahan, Brady Clark and Troy Klett.

For the individual events, Peyton Leathers placed eighth in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 12.40. 

In the 200 meter dash, Colt Reed finished in ninth with a time of 25.22. 

Landon Crowe finished the 400 meter dash with a final time of 1:02.53. 

In the 800 meter run, Braydon Wood placed 10th with a time of 2:29.18. 

Troy Klett took home sixth in the 1600 meter run with a final time of 5:14.90.

Owen Menke placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 1:12.07.

In the discus event, Brock Alderson secured ninth with a longest throw recorded at 95-05.50. Ashton Schwab placed 11th with a longest throw recorded at 88-11.75. 

Jake Moore placed 13th in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 15-10.50. 

Lastly for the individual events, Jayden Thompson secured seventh in the shot put event with a longest throw recorded at 38-02.00. Caden Clarahan also placed 11th in the same event with a longest throw recorded at 35-07.50.

The Savages boys track team will return to action on April 4, when they travel to Lynnville-Sully high school for a meet.
