English Valleys Boys Make Trip to Pekin for Track Meet

PACKWOOD—On March 27, the English Valleys boys track team participated in the Ruritan Relays hosted by the Pekin Panthers. The Bears finished in fifth place with an aggregate score of 57.

For the team events, the Bears took home the gold in the 4x100 meter relay with a final time of 46.98. The 4x100 meter relay team is made up of Myles Grove, Keshaun Lundy, Josh Osborn and Deshon Anderson. 

The Bears also placed third in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:38.53. The 4x200 team consists of Myles Grove, Keshaun Lundy, Josh Osborn and Deshon Anderson. 

In the distance medley, they finished in second place with a final time of 3:59.00. The distance medley team is made up of Reese Bender, Ethan Garrett, Jonathyn Downing and Cecil Smallwood. 

Lastly for the team events, the Bears finished in third in the 4x800 meter relay and the 800 sprint medley. The 4x800 team consists of Hunter Offerman, Jonathyn Downing, AJ Bruns and Cael Grove, while the 800 sprint medley is made up of Myles Grove, Keshaun Lundy, Reese Bender and Josh Osborn. 

For the individual events, Gage Hyne placed second in the 1600 meter run with a final time of 4:57.24. Hyne also placed third in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:46.99. 

In the 100 meter dash, Keshaun Lundy finished in fourth with a time of 12.14. Ben Coffman also placed ninth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.69.

Dehson Anderson finished in seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.99, while Reese Bender placed 12th in the same event with a time of 25.55.

AJ Bruns placed seventh in the discus throw event with a farthest throw of 101-54-04. Bruns also finished 13th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.29.  

In the 800 meter run, Cael Grove finished his race in 10th with a final time of 2:38.96. 

Lastly for the individual events, Treyton Shaw placed ninth in the shot put event with a longest throw of 33-08.50.

The English Valleys boys track team will return to action on March 30, when they travel to Belle Plaine high school for a meet.
