Keota Track Teams Travel to Sigourney for Savage Relays
SIGOURNEY—On April 25, the Keota Eagles track teams visited Sigourney high school for the Savage Relays. The Eagles girls team placed 14th with an aggregate score of six, while the boys finished in 12th with a score of one.
Girls:
For the team events, the Eagles were the fourth team to cross the finish line in the 4x200 meter relay with a final time of 2:03.38. The 4x200 team was made up of Ava Greiner, Emily Moeller, Emily Sheetz and Olivia Lyle.
They also placed fifth in the sprint medley with a final time of 2:06.66. The sprint medley team consisted of Kimberly Clarahan, Grace Conger, Emily Moeller and Olivia Lyle.
For the individual events, Izzi Chalupa finished in seventh in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 14-04.
Izzi Chalupa and Emily Moeller placed back to back in the 100 meter dash. Chalupa was 15th runner to cross the finish line, while Moeller placed 16th.
Boys:
The lone point from the boys came from Luke Moeller in the 400 meter dash. Moeller blazed through the track en route to a sixth place finish with a time of 57.99.
The Keota girls track team will return to action on April 27, when they head to Wapello for the Arrow Relays. The boys track team will return to action on May 2 for the BMG Co-Ed SICL meet.
