Caden Clarahan Pitches Gem and Plates Two in Savage Baseball Win
Sigourney—The Sigourney Savages hosted the English Valleys Bears on May 26 for a South Iowa Cedar League matchup. The Savages handled the Bears by a final score of 5-1.
The Savages quickly found themselves in a 1-0 hole after an inning of play. Starting pitcher Caden Clarahan then locked in, and did not allow another run the rest of his night. He finished with six and one third innings pitched with two hits, one earned run and 12 strikeouts. Jake Moore came in for relief for the final two thirds of the seventh, and struck out one batter, while only giving up one hit.
Caden Clarahan also broke the tie in the bottom of the third by knocking in two runners with a double to deep left. This came after Ty Shafranek tied the game up with an RBI single.
Jake Moore and Chase Clarahan also batted in a runner apiece in the fifth and sixth innings to extend the Savage lead.
The Savages finish off a busy week with a perfect 5-0 record to push their overall record to 5-1. They will return to action on May 30, when they host the Davis County Mustangs.
The Bears fall to 0-3 on the season, and will return to action on May 27, when they host the North Mahaska Warhawks.
