Daniel Kevin Morrison, 66
Daniel Kevin Morrison, 66, passed away peacefully on August 12th, at his home outside of South English surrounded by his family after a long fight against Parkinson’s. The disease robbed his ability to farm in recent years so his family is happy to know that he is now farming the fields of heaven and climbing in and out of tractors and pickups with ease.
Dan was born on June 16, 1957 to Don and Marilyn Morrison. In his childhood and adolescent years Danny had an ornery streak. He spent a lot of time with his siblings and cousins on the family farm by South English creating lifelong memories. He attended English Valleys schools but took any chance he could get to have his mom write an excuse to farm instead. As he entered his adult years Dan was soft spoken but still kept that ornery sense of humor. He used to tell his kids, “Don’t go away mad. Just go away.” with a smirk when he would tell them something they didn’t want to hear…but needed to. He got great delight from scaring the living daylights out of his kids by hiding behind things and jumping out, a trick he learned from his dad and the tradition lives on through his kids. His belly laugh was contagious and often resulted in everyone laughing until they cried. Three things that stayed consistent through all of Dan’s years on Earth were his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family and a strong love for farming.
He will be greatly missed by his amazing and devoted wife of 43 years, Jody, and their five kids, Kyle Morrison, Danica (Michael) Roe, Brianna (Matthew) Clarahan, Kevin (Megan) Morrison and Mikayla (Tyler) Lee, and 14 grandkids Allie and Mylie Morrison; Kaidan, Keagan and Kolten Roe; Brooks, Tate, Wes and Lane Clarahan; Makenna, Emma, Cadence and Khloe Morrison and Teddy Lee. He is also survived by his mom, Marilyn Morrison, 6 siblings Vicki (Rich) Barnett, Doug (Sue) Morrison, Brenda (David) Ranum, David Morrison, Mari (Al) Ackerman, and Dick (Nancy) Morrison, in-laws Nyle and Burnadene Vargason and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His family finds comfort knowing that he will be greeted in heaven by his dad, Don Morrison.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Essence of Life Hospice, Karyssa Westfall and Stevie Droz.
