Jared Dean Dyson
SIGOURNEY-Jared Dean Dyson peacefully passed away on January 5th, 2024 at Keokuk County Health Center after a courageous 14-year battle with a brain injury. His strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit throughout this challenging journey left a lasting impact on all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Jared was born June 2, 1966 in Sigourney, Iowa to Ada (Carolyn) Dyson and Oral (Dean) Dyson. He attended/graduated from Sigourney High School in 1984 and followed his education at Indian Hills Community College through the Farm Mechanics/Machinery program. On June 27, 1992 he married Kristi Watson, in Fairfield, Iowa. Together they had 3 children, Kelsey,
Lincoln, and Dallas. Jared worked at Kinze Manufacturing for 24 years as a production welder. He found his passion in farming and lending a helping hand to friends by fixing machinery. His dedication to agriculture and the camaraderie he shared with those around him exemplify the essence of his character. His legacy will endure through the fields he tended and the friendships he nurtured. Jared was an avid enthusiast of hunting, fishing, golfing, and racing. Jared found joy in the great outdoors. His love for family knew no bounds and he was known for his selflessness, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially on the side of the road. Jared’s legacy of kindness and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Kristi of North English, his daughter, Kelsey (Ethan) Hammes of Williamsburg, his son, Dallas (Laura) Dyson of South English, his parents of Sigourney; sister Jona Webb (John) of Sigourney; grandchildren Addyson, Everlee, and Rhyatt Hammes and a granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his son, Lincoln Dean Dyson, and his grandparents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at English River Church of the Brethren near South English, with Pastor Nick Needham officiating. Burial will be at Brethren Cemetery near South English. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7. 2024 at the Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney.
