English Valleys Basketball Mid-Season Recap

The English Valleys girls hold a record of 8-3. They sit at the top of the East side of the SICL conference with a conference record of 6-1.

After a 1-1 start, the Bears ripped off four straight wins that was capped off with a road victory over the, then undefeated, Sigourney Savages.

Senior Kennedy Axmear continues to amaze, as she averages 18.2 points, 2 assists, 9.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and one block per game.

Fellow senior Delaney Hall has the ability to score at will as well, as she averages 14.1 points per game. 

Senior Imigyn Stratton has found a pivotal role in the starting lineup, as she is averaging 6.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The boys season has had its ups and downs with the highest point coming in their first victory of the season over the Tri-County Trojans by a final score of 54-40.

Senior Myles Grove has cemented himself as the leader of this team. He continues to do it all, as he averages 10.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Freshman Everette Bender has stepped onto the scene in a big way for the Bears, as he averages 8.1 points, 1.6 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.

Junior AJ Bruns is the main paint presence for the Bears, as he averages 7.4 points and 6.6 rebounds.

Both English Valleys basketball teams will return to action on January 5, when they host the Lynnville-Sully Hawks.
