Bowling Sends a Bowler to State

  The Sigourney-Keota boys and girls high school bowling teams competed for state qualifying honors during the substate meets at Imperial Lanes in Comanche. The girls meet was held on Monday February 12 and the boys followed on February 13.

    The SK girls’ varsity team placed third during their substate meet. SK junior Jayden Montgomery claimed the SK girls’ high series with a 528 while junior Addison Richardson threw the team’s high single game score of 209.

    The SK boys were leading the team competition after the first ten Baker games but during the final five Baker games fell to third place with a total pin count of 2863 behind Monticello with a 2912 the eventual first place team of Comanche with a 2972 total pins. 

     SK sophomore Wells Clark punched his ticket to state with a 658 series. Senior Brock Alderson fell just short of state qualifying by 9 pins with a 649 series and junior Landyn Greiner also cleared 600 with a 606 series. Clark will head to Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo on Wednesday February 21 to compete for state Class 1A honors.
