English Valleys’ Delaney Hall Named to the Region 8 All-Region Team

English Valleys’ senior captain Delaney Hall was named to the Region 8 All-Region Team. Hall helped the Bears push to a final record of 14-9, as she was the second leading scorer on the team with 10.6 points per game. Hall also had the high three point percentage of players on the team with at least 10 attempts.

Hall spoke on earning the accomplishments with, “It means a lot coming from other coaches, who they recognize you and your ability to play, and how you play with character. It means a lot.”

In the SICL conference, Hall finished with the fourth most three pointers splashed with 52 on the year. She also tallied the second most steals in the SICL-East division with 58 pockets picked on the year. Lastly, Hall was fifth in the division in free point percentage, shooting 59.5% from the charity stripe.   

“It takes a lot of practice throughout the past three years. Jeff (Miller, Head Coach) has helped me a lot with my shot, and how to overcome all the challenges I have been facing. The upperclassmen my first two years helped me a lot with my shot, and gave me a lot of pointers. That really showed this year.”

Hall has the confidence of a pure shooter, and does not hesitate to take a jumper. She spoke on this confidence of shooting with, “Really comes from my brother. I play against him all the time. He is taller than me, so I can’t take it to the hoop. I had to shoot it, and I built the confidence and ability to do that.”

Hall and teammate Kennedy Axmear were both once again the captains for the Bears, as they were also named captains in their junior years. Hall spoke on the chemistry that she and Axmear have as leaders, and also as friends, with, “Kennedy and I have been best friends since we were babies. That shows in sports, especially in high school because that bond that we have, we take it to others. We create a team bond. How we talk to each other really rubs off on our teammates.”
