Sigourney Starts Track Season at SICL Meet at Grinnell College
GRINNELL—Sigourney boys and girls track teams started their season with a trip to Grinnell College for a SICL Meet.
For the girls, Kia Montgomery finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.87. She also finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:11.87.
In the 1500 meter run, Addison Yates bolted her way to a third place finish with a time of 5:51.47.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Reagan Clarahan coasted to a third place finish with a time of 11.07, while Mason Clarahan placed seventh in the same event with a time of 11.22.
Erin Dawson finished her day in the shot put event in sixth with a longest throw recorded at 30-05.50.
For the boys, Troy Klett took home the bronze in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.44. Klett also finished in fourth in the 1600 meter run with a final time of 5:20.00.
Jayden Thompson took home second place in the shot put event with a longest throw recorded at 40-10.00. Caden Clarahan also finished in fourth in the shot put event. Clarahan also finished in eight in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.66.
In the 60 meter dash, Colt Reed finished in seventh with Isaac Bruns right behind him in eighth place.
For team events, the boys distance medley, which was made up of Colt Reed, Jake Moore, Brayden Wood and Troy Klett, placed fourth with a time of 4:10.03.
The girls team will return to action on March 26 for the Belle Plaine Meet, while the boys return to action on March 25 for the Pekin Meet.
