NORTH ENGLISH – The North English Public Library has expanded to a new room, which is planned to feature young adult novels, CDs and audiobooks. The new section will also be used for LEGO club, the creative club, various book clubs and speakers. The new room is named the Greenlee Room, after Harold and Margaret Ann Greenlee, farmers from North English who were heavily involved in the community. When the Greenlees passed away in 2018, they left money for the library, community center and the Methodist church.

“I knew them from delivering books to the care center when they were in there. Very sweet people, very concerned about the community. Very giving, caring people,” said Library Director Annette Shannahan.

The library used this money to purchase and renovate the building to the north of the library. Work began in 2023 and the new room had a grand opening on April 27.
