Local Schools Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week


Sigourney teachers getting recognition during Teacher Appreciation Week

The week of May 6-10 was teacher appreciation week, leading to gifts and recognition from local schools and community members. At Sigourney, support staff received an assembly honoring them and a massage chair was set up at Sigourney High School. At Pekin, teachers received candy, goodie bags, donuts, and a trail mix bar. At English Valleys, teachers received candy from the school board, pizza from Knapp Construction, chips, dip, and meat and cheese trays from EVEA and STUCO, and bars and cookies from the Patterson family. At Keota, teachers received coffee and flowers from Keota Elementary PTO, a pulled pork meal from Brenneman Pork, Hog Hut BBQ and the student council, $30 Amazon gift cards from the Keota Education Foundation, cupcakes from Abby Sieren of Farm Bureau Cinnamon Rolls from the school board, cake pops from Naomi Jaeger, gift bags from the National Honor Society, donuts from the Ray Clark family, and breakfast pizza from the principals.
