Gerald “Dean” Allen, 77

OSKALOOSA-Gerald “Dean” Allen, age 77, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Dean was born January 27, 1947, in Keota, to Clarence and Mabel (Wolfe) Allen and graduated from Keota High School.  He then lived in Sigourney and Pella before moving to Oskaloosa.  Dean worked at Roll Screen, later called Pella Corp., for 35 years, retiring in 2010.  He enjoyed hunting, working on and collecting cars, especially his Camaro, and going to the Family Restaurant for coffee.

Survivors include his sister: Bettie Crowe of Lowden; sister-in-law: Dorothy Allen of Chariton and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Don Allen; sister: Marilyn Feaster; brothers-in-law: Marvin Feaster and Arnold Crowe and two nephews: Jeff Allen and Douglas Allen in infancy. 



Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Pastor Dave Peterson officiating.  Burial will be at Keota Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
