KEOTA – During the July 1 meeting of the Keota City Council, the council discussed delaying installing a rock climbing wall at the city pool. The wall has been purchased and delivered, but city employee Micah Harmsen explained installing it would require closing the pool down to remove and replace a section of concrete. Harmsen stated that no one wants the pool to be closed for several days when it’s 95 degrees outside. City Administrator Alycia Horras said the city could wait until next year to install the wall. Councilman Keith Conrad agreed with this, arguing it could be a new feature for the pool’s second season. The council agreed to install the rock climbing wall after school starts in the fall.

The council approved a $21,059 bid from B&L to build a circle drop off at the aquatic center. The council approved moving the next council meeting to July 22, due to the Washington County Fair.
