Glosser wins Mike Jay XC meet

MORNING STAR - Mike Jay’s voice is famous for announcing track meets across the world. On Thursday afternoon his familiar voice was following along as many area cross country runners ran at the meet named in his honor. 

Pekin’s Chloe Glosser was able to win the meet, besting the field by nearly a minute. Glosser crossed the finish line with a total time of 19:21. Danville’s Alaina Gourley was second in the race with a time of 20:14.9.

Other runners for the Pekin girls cross country team included Maddy Petrehn in 26th; Abby Guise in 30th; Harper Guise in 33rd; Renae Eubanks in 36th; Brinley Phillips in 39th. Callie Deutschle was able to place 58th. 

Overall the Pekin girls placed third with 96 points. 

In the boys competition the boys finished fifth overall with 98 points. Danville won the team race with a total of 58 points. 

The Panther boys were led by Mason Dahlstrom who would place seventh overall with a time of 17:37.0

Cole Millikin added another top-10 finish with a ninth place time. Lane Fariss was able to place 16th in the race. Brody Sobaski was 32nd. Sam Hall finished 36th. Dylan Sobaski was 44th. Conor Cloyd would place 69th overall.
